The job

Daisy is responsible for supporting the execution of mine projects by implementing ways to reduce their environmental impact. As an environmental engineer, she works in a team to develop better ways of recovering metals from waste or recycling waste to minimise its impact on the environment.

The impact

The world needs mining to transition to net zero and being an environmental engineer, Daisy’s job ensures that this is done with sustainability in mind. Her work helps to do this by turning leftover material from the mine into useful products.

The study path

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)

Daisy studied a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering, but other courses include Bachelor of Environmental Science and Bachelor of Science (Environmental). The vocational pathway can include a Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.
