The job

As a mechanical engineer, Connor works to make some of the world’s most powerful engines in mining more environmentally friendly.

He and his team design systems that let diesel engines run on a mix of diesel and natural gas, which helps reduce emissions.

The impact

By using cleaner fuel systems, Connor’s work can reduce environmental impacts by lowering carbon emissions, helping the resources industry move towards cleaner energy.

The study path

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)

Connor studied a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) but also spent a lot of time working with engines and equipment at home and with University of Queensland’s Formula SAE (Society Automative Engineers) Team (UQ Racing). An alternative pathway is through an Associate Degree of Engineering.
